Not sure why I don't get notifications when people comment on my blog, but I'm happy to finally know people are commenting. haha..here I was thinking, no one was even reading it! Maybe I'll click around and see if I can find a "send notification" type button.

Forgot to mention that Saturday I went to Toys R Us to start some Christmas shopping for the kids and it was crazy busy. Its exciting to know the holidays are so close but we got started so late on shopping, that I'm a little stressed at how much I still need to buy before the big day. Almost finished with kid stuff except a few small things and their stockings. Then I start on Luke...then the rest of our family. In years past, getting presents was soo important to me...and while I still love getting them, I've discovered that GIVING presents seriously makes me like 3 times happier then getting them. I love watching people open their gifts.. I love being able to get people things they really wanted and will appreciate. I love putting thought and time into what I buy for people..its just something that means so much more to me now.

Speaking of holiday's..this lady has a blog(not just for holiday's, but its centered on that right now) and I just LOVE her recipes. We've tried out some and really enjoy them. Her picture by picture step through process of a recipe is soo great for me since I learn so much better when its visual ... She updates all the times with new recipe's, so check back often!! :) (The Pioneer Woman)

Happy Sunday.

Trying to blog more cause one day I may look back and really enjoy reading what our lives were like with only 2 kids. :)

Today I actually got to sleep in. Past 9:00...so nice. All without waking to go potty...which seems more often then not these days. Had a nice lazy breakfast with the fam and played around the house till lunch when we decided that a trip to the Farmer's Market was in order. Luke ate the last of the onion bagles we got last week and I was craving a bagle sandwich for lunch..so we made our way over there, bought bagles, tangerines, grapes, a loaf of pumpernickle bread for Luke, and some talapia fillets for dinner tomorrow night. Got home, ate our lunches nice and lazily, and put the kids down for a nap. Luke and I cleaned up cause our realtor wanted to drop off a pecan pie since we didn't make it to a "Client appreciation" party he had yesterday. He's such a sweet guy, however we expected him much earlier then he came. Oh well..

Played Mario Kart with Luke on the DS's for a bit, Luke won. Typical..then we watched Casino Royal, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Still not sure about the new guy..:) Decided to start dinner, made a green bean cassarole(craving thanksgiving much Kayla?), brown rice and a pot roast. So yummy...realtor finally came and enjoyed a helping of green bean cassarole before leaving...now we are just enjoying the evening. Its 9:32 and my kids are still up....its late for them, but maybe it will make them sleep in tomorrow. haha..:)

All in all, I'd say it was a pretty good day! I think knowing I only have to make it to Wednesday before Luke has a nice long break really helps my outlook on this week.

Crazy day..!

So I had my ultrasound. My awesome friend Carol got up and had her kids ready and at my house by 9:15..she's super woman. :) Go out to my car and my car won't start. We've had battery trouble the last couple of days and just haven't had the time to take it in. Figures it wouldn't start when you have to get somewhere on time. Fortunately, Carol had jumper cables and knew how to use them, bless her. Got the car started and I was off...got there, waited 10 minutes in the waiting room, taken back for my ultrasound...got in there, only got a 5 minute one with no "here's a foot" type of thing and only one picture. I know it was just a dating ultrasound, but still. I was disappointed.. No due date change like I was thinking would happen...but at least I know how far along I am exactly now. Got the lovely PAP, and then went to get my blood drawn for the screening. She stuck me and took one vial of blood, then took the needle out..I made the remark that that was the least I'd ever seen them take for that type of screening and she was like "Oh, I thought you were here for a beta draw"...no..ma'am...I know I'm preggo..:)
So she had to stick me again..at least she did it in the other arm so one wasn't bruised up...

Anyways...got a brief nap today which was nice. I guess Carol tired the kids out enough..Luke came home, we went to Target and bought some MUCH needed pj's for the kids. Poor Noah's still wearing his 12 month ones and they are soo stinkin tiny on him. So we spurged and bought them 4 pairs each. Its not enough for what they really need, but its a start and I'm hoping to find some good used ones soon. (We also got a pair of jumper cables for my car, because I didn't have a set and thats scary seeing as the trouble we've had with it recently.).

Picked up Chik-fil-a for dinner and played with the kids for a while before we put them down for bed. We cozied up on the couch and were watching Survivor: Gabon when I look out the window and see emergency lights....I ask Luke to get up and see what it is..he's busy watching t.v. and doesn't really hear me, when I look out our window again and see not only orange coming up but TONS of smoke. I start yelling fire to Luke and we run to the door to see 2 fire trucks on our street and the house directly across from us on FIRE...It was crazy. We could feel the heat at our front door. Liv prayed it wouldn't touch our house and Luke and I prayed there was no one inside the house. The firefighters took their sweet time getting the water going and didn't start spraying till like 20 minutes after they got there. Not a reassuring feeling if it was ever our house. We apparently need another hydrant on our street cause they had to run it all the way down the street..and had to wait for another truck to get there to make the hose long enough. Meanwhile the house is burning. Luke and I are watching in horror as windows are blowing and things are literally exploding from the house. Thankfully once they got started it didn't take them but about 20 minutes to have most of it out and only a few flickers remained. No one knew if anyone was home till the lady who lived there's cousin came and she hung out with us while they dealt with it all. Fortunately she said everybody was in NY and we all sighed a sigh of relief that no one was hurt. The cousin's daughter came in our house and we watched the news for a while waiting for the Mom to be able to go in the house and retrieve all she could that was important. It was crazy and we were up much later then we would have liked, but its hard to sleep when there are lights and the noise of a rumbling firetruck practically in our drive way.

Anyways..made for an interesting night. Not sure who got kicked off Survivor, and we missed The Office, but its ok. I'm glad the day is over...

Luke doesn't have to work on Saturday this week! Makes me so happy..and Livvy. She's always begging him not to go to work..

Anyways..its been a long enough blog. Praying today there are no fires. :)

Ultrasound..and stuff.

Thursday I have my first ultrasound. It was supposed to be 4 weeks ago but due to insurance red tape, we weren't able to. I was soo bummed, but at least I'll have a bigger baby to see instead of a blob. :) I'm thinking I'm further along then we thought, so I'm interested to see if thats true. We don't plan on finding out this time, and even though I know its early, we could tell with Noah at 14 weeks, and I'll be almost 13 according to my dating, and not an updated one, so I'm going to make sure the tech knows to NOT show me any goods shots, cause I've gotten pretty good at seeing that type of thing on the screen as ultrasounds kind of fascinate me. :)

This will be the first one I go to alone. Luke has always been with me but him getting off just doesn't work this time, so I'm going by myself. Its sad that I can't enjoy it, and usually we get a tape of it so he could watch, but I don't know how the new office is, so I guess I'll have to call and find out and see if they do anything besides snap shots. I also feel really blessed to have made it this far and NOT put on a single pound either. In fact, I've lost. I know I'll probably make up for it, but since I started out a little fluffier this time around, I'm trying to watch portion sizes and make heathier choices like fruits and the such when I am feeling munchy. Apparently its working. Hoping I can keep it up...I feel like I'm eating all the time, but I guess as long as its healthy we are just breaking even. :) Now that I'm kind of past the "worry" zone of before 12 weeks, I think I'll start walking/jogging(no running) on my treadmill again. I'm trying to get over the fact that I WILL indeed have to put on weight for a healthy baby, but I'd like to only put on what baby needs and not all the excess.

Had Erin and Wesley over on Sunday. It was so fun..we really love having them over and they seem to enjoy playing games with us which is nice since a lot of our other friends aren't as into games as we are.

Luke got a "new" boss this week. Its one he's had before as apparently his company likes to move management around..but he's really cool and much better then the last one, and doesn't really like working 9 hour days, so this week he's been on 8's. It makes the day so much easier knowing he'll be home at 4. We need to grocery shop tonight..I'm not looking forward to it. Usuall I don't mind, but today I don't feel like thinking out sales, menu's and what not..I try and be frugal now, but it takes brain power...and today I don't feel like I have any. I might be make lazy meals this week.

Tonight is my favorite t.v. night outside of Thursday which has The Office and Surviver: Gabon...but anyways..tonight is Biggest Loser(my faveeeee!!) and Fringe. A new weird sci-fi type show created by J.J. Abrams(the guy who does LOST). Its crazy and weird, and sometimes gory. But somehow I'm sucked in..its also really funny sometimes.

See ya later Xanga..

Ok, I admit, I'm not a hardcore blogger by anymeans, but I've been fedup with Xanga for quite some time and apparently all the cool people have blogger blogs..so here I am. While I may not write all the time, this will be my new resting place for random thought, mundane life details and ranting and raving.

I LOVE reading blogs and find that a good 30-45 minutes of my day is spent in reading several different people's. For some reason I'm drawn to the tragic ones..haha..This woman's blog had made me laugh and cry. She lost her daughter Audrey about 6 months ago due to issues with development. This woman may not know me, but her honesty and faith in the Lord encourage me like rain on a dessert floor. I think seeing people in real life apply the word of the Lord to their daily lives almost means more to me then any sermon ever could. (Bring the Rain)

This woman doesn't know me either, but I've gotten so wrapped up in her story that I feel as if we are best friends. How sad..haha..She adopted her son from Russia, and has had heartbreak with 5 miscarriages and has just TODAY had an adopted daughter be born to them. They have been able to go and see her, and I rejoice with them as they welcome her into their lives. (Our Journey of Love)

And this father had his wife die 27 hours after their premature daughter was born. She wasn't even able to see their daughter before she passed. Its him just telling it like it is...warning there are some cuss words in his blog. (Matt, Liz, and Madeline)

So, anyways..I've given you a peep into what I read during the day..:) More later, I'm sure..
